This ___________, _____ _th half brothers Matt Baker and Alex Zerbe will be will be performing their family comedy show at ____________. Baker and Zerbe make up the hilarious and skilled juggling duo Brothers from Different Mothers
The pair, who has the same father but different mothers, grew up near each other in Seattle Washington. As teens the brothers toured the world as part of a professional hacky-sack demonstration team. During their time in Europe the brothers were inspired by circus artists and Russian jugglers. Over the next seven years Baker and Zerbe became world-class jugglers and laid the foundation for their high-energy family show.
Comedy has been the driving force for their show over the past three years. According to Baker, “Now we work more on the comedy than anything else.” Diverse comedic influences have helped create a show with universal appeal. The two brothers have very different approaches to comedy. Baker is influenced by modern verbal comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Rodney Dangerfield and Bob Hope and Zerbe is inspired by the older physical comedy of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and modern artists like Bill Irwin and Avner the Eccentric. According to Zerbe, “If Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis were jugglers their act would probably look a lot like ours.”
Be prepared to see dangerous stunts, audience participation, a faux game show and one of the Brothers catch a horse with his face. Using comedy and wowing audiences with their ability to juggle with unusual body parts the duo has become a popular West Coast attraction. “Our show is not what you’d think a traditional juggling show is. We do stuff that people have never seen,” says Zerbe. Their personal history is incorporated into the show, as the two demonstrate its evolution on-stage. They have been performing their juggling and comedy antics for years - performing everywhere from the Las Vegas Comedy Festival to the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts.
